Ingredients
  

  • 500g (14oz) frozen waffle fries
  • 1 tbsp oil (avocado, rapeseed, or olive)
  • 1 medium onion
  • 500g (1lb 2oz) ground beef (5% fat)
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp non-alcoholic Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tbsp chopped dill pickles (or cornichons)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F)
  2. Spread fries on a parchment-lined tray, spray with oil
  3. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden and crispy
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat
  5. Add chopped onion; sauté 5 minutes until softened
  6. Increase to medium-high heat, add ground beef with salt and pepper; cook 5–6 minutes, breaking into crumbles
  7. Stir in oregano, paprika, garlic powder, non-alcoholic Worcestershire, and dill pickles; cook 1 minute more

Notes

Substitute shallots for onion if unavailable
Use smoked paprika for a bolder flavor
Add cornichons as pickling alternative
Adjust oil quantity based on fry brand
