Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter or coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup honey (agave syrup for vegan)
  • 1 cup cane sugar
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (plant-based option)
  • 2 cups flour (almond or coconut for gluten-free)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon licorice extract
  • 1 packet Kool-Aid powder (any flavor)
  • 1/4 cup beetroot juice (optional for color)

Method
 

  1. Melt butter/oil and honey in a saucepan over low heat
  2. Add condensed milk, sugar, and salt; stir until smooth
  3. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat
  4. Stir in licorice extract, Kool-Aid powder, and beetroot juice
  5. Cool mixture briefly, transfer to parchment paper
  6. Roll tight ropes, cut into 1½" pieces, and wrap individually

Use coconut oil for dairy-free version
