Method
- Combine cornstarch and cold water in a container, shake until dissolved.
- Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl.
- Heat oil in a skillet; stir-fry broccoli 4 minutes until tender-crisp. Remove to a bowl.
- Cook ground beef on medium-high 6-8 minutes until done. Drain excess fat.
- Add onions, stir-fry 1 minute until softened.
- Pour sauce mixture into the skillet with beef and onions. Simmer 3 minutes until thickened.
- Return broccoli to the pan and toss to coat. Cook 2 minutes until heated through.
Notes
Drain 3/4 cup fat after browning beef to reduce calories.
Use pre-diced onions for time-saving.
Frozen broccoli works well if fresh is unavailable.
Substitute scallion for yellow onion for a milder flavor.
